Golf Course Reminders
As we enter peak golf season we would like to remind everyone of some ways to keep up our pace of play, and keep our golf course in the best condition possible. Pace of play for all rounds are expected to be four hours or less. The target time is 1:55 for the front nine, a five minute turn time, and 2:00 for the back 9. As weekend mornings are especially busy, it is imperative to keep up with the group in front of you. If you see empty holes in front of you, and multiple groups behind, please do your best to catch up. We will be monitoring turn times for all groups throughout the weekends, and will have rangers out to monitor pace of play. The first hour of tee times on the weekend (6:30-7:30) should be for groups playing in 3:30 or less. Our golf course is difficult, especially for groups with three guests, so be mindful of bringing groups out in this "speed slot" time. Always play ready golf, help your partners by watching their tee shots, be ready to hit when its your turn, and park golf carts in a position close to the next tee. A well paced round is always a more enjoyable one!
We would also like to remind everyone to replace their ball marks on greens, as we have been noticing an increased number of unfixed marks. As always please feel free to speak with the Golf Professional staff if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Thank you.
Practice Area Update
We will be finishing up some final touches on the revamped driving range, so please be mindful of any roped off areas and restrictions. We have begun a spraying program on the grass range tee to remove unwanted grass types, and create better turf coverage, during this time we will not be using the grass tee on the next two weekends. We will provide an update when the grass tee is again available for use.
Our new short game area has also been sodded and hydroseeded. This area will not be ready until all sod has rooted, so please stay off this area until we announce that it is ready.
We hope everyone enjoys these upgraded amenities, and as always lessons are available through our PGA and LPGA Professionals; Alex Bardani (alex@blackhawkct.com), James McIntosh (James@blackhawkct.com), and Jordan Lintz (JordanLintzGolf@gmail.com.
Golf Course Schedule & Projects
Members of Blackhawk Country Club,
With summer in full swing there have been some great days for golf. Having some good weather also means a lot more players on the course. Please be mindful of where you are driving, especially on par 3s. As you can see, there are some areas that are thinning out due to much cart traffic specifically near tee boxes. Please utilize the cart paths near the tee areas. Also, with more golfers on the course please fix your ball marks and divots, as a maintenance staff we appreciate your cooperation.
As some may have noticed our maintenance staff is growing. Please be mindful there will be more employees on the course and they are here to make the course better for you enjoyment. We try our best to work around you while playing so we will not create any congestion during your round.
Thank you and we look forward to continue making course improvements throughout the summer.
