Mid-Season Member Update

To Our Valued Members,


First, I’d like to personally apologize as this letter is late and I know the impact of our new partnership with NBC Sports Private Club Division has created negative feedback without clarity into what we are setting out to accomplish and more importantly the positive impacts this program will afford to each of you.

Over the last week and this weekend at both clubs NBC Sports has been performing a velocity market analysis. This analysis listed approximately 4-5 tee times each day across all NBC Sports booking engines to measure interest, market rate and numerous other factors in each specific market in Southbury and Stratford.

This data is then compiled and compared to the other 100+ private clubs utilizing the same program to create a targeted and effective marketing campaign to launch with our newest Membership Drive “The Hottest Deal of the Summer.”  The velocity testing will be completed this Sunday, and no tee times will be listed through the marketplace until July 15th with only two (2) tee times each day, at normal preview round rates through NBC’s Private Club Portal.

The WHY is simple: We believe this partnership and key data from NBC Sports will set us up for another year of Membership growth at both clubs, thus letting us announce the most exciting part:

There will be NO increase in Membership Dues or Guest Fees at either club for 2025. The only increase will be $2 in both the 18-hole and 9-hole cart fees to coincide with new fleets at each club in 2025 and a $49 increase to the annual Range/Facility Fee billed in May.

Over 5 seasons at Silo Point and entering our 3rd Season at Blackhawk we have been able to continuously reinvest in all aspects of each club, grow the memberships and keep pricing increases well below both CPI and CPE indexes. Our goal remains to continue membership growth that allows us to keep pricing down for everyone to enjoy.

2025 Membership Drive and Member Referral Program

We are thrilled to announce our 2025 Membership Drive and Member Referral Program, which will offer you an amazing opportunity to earn statement credits and invite new members to join our private golf clubs. We are also excited to share with you our new partnership with NBC Sports, which will help us promote our club and attract more like-minded golf enthusiasts to our private clubs.

Here are the details of our 2025 Membership Drive and Member Referral Program*:

  • Starting July 1st, you can refer new members under our Hottest Deal of the Summer promotion and earn an instant member statement credit of $500 per new member referred.

  • There is no cap on the membership referral program. If you refer 4 new members under the Hottest Deal of the Summer, you will earn $2,000 in statement credits.

  • The Hottest Deal of the Summer is a limited-time offer that includes a $1,500 initiation fee (+ tax) with no dues until January 1, 2025, on a 12-month commitment.

  • The Hottest Deal of the Summer will be available for current member referrals from July 1st along with our NBC Partnership Drive beginning July 15th.

  • To receive the membership referral credit the New Member must designate their referring member at the time of their application submission.

  • To further help this program succeed, member-accompanied 18 Hole preview round fees for referral candidates will be reduced to $50 including cart rental between July 1 - August 30, 2024 (one-time per prospect). All referral candidates must register their contact information with the golf staff for this program rate to apply. We are confident that this program will help us grow our membership and thus help keep our mission of the best value.

As part of our membership drive, we have also partnered with NBC Sports, one of the leading sports media companies in the country, to showcase our club and courses to a wider audience of golf lovers. NBC Sports will feature our club on their platforms, including GolfNow, and offer preview round rates for their customers to play at our courses during off-peak times.

Here are the details of our partnership with NBC Sports beginning July 15th:

  • NBC Sports will promote up to two tee times a day during off-peak times

  • The inventory being offered will have limited or no impact on tee time availability for our current members.

  • Agency preview tee times will be listed beginning July 15th and will be priced at $99.

  • NBC Sports will also provide us with valuable data and insights on customer behavior and preferences, which will help us design better custom membership programs and improve our services and facilities.

  • The Club landing page on all tee time platforms clearly states that these are Preview Rounds, and the golf shop staff will monitor and enforce limiting the number of times someone may play our private clubs.

We are very aware of the perception of these agency times, but we truly believe that this partnership will benefit our clubs and our members in the long run. NBC Sports has been a trusted partner of hundreds of private golf clubs across the country, helping them increase their exposure, revenue, and membership. We are excited to join this network and leverage their expertise as we continue to be better.
