April showers bring May flowers in more ways than one, it looks like the weather is starting to turn in our favor. The trees and flowers are budding and the grass is a bright emerald green. These are the perfect ingredients for a wonderful day of golf here at Blackhawk Country Club.
CLUBHOUSE WATER DAMAGE UPDATE
For those of you may not know last Saturday night the club experienced an unbelievable situation, the bottom floor of the clubhouse was completely flooded. The pipe coming out from the Hot Water Tank blew a weld and spewed water all over the Boiler Room. This episode damaged the Men's and Women's locker room, the hallway connecting the two, Jordan's instruction room, the Bag Room, the front hallway and the Pro Shop. The back offices made it out unscathed.
Servpro came out and set up their equipment to remediate all the water that took over the lower level of the clubhouse. We are currently awaiting the results of damage report from Servpro to inform us of what needs to be replaced.
Until further notice the Pro Shop has set up a temporary location in the Ballroom upstairs of the clubhouse. The actual Pro Shop is off-limits to all members until the Pro Shop has been repaired and all members need to check in upstairs in the temporary Pro Shop in the ballroom. We thank you for your understanding during these difficult times. We hope to have this all cleaned up and renovated by the end of the month. We will continue to update the entire membership in the weekly newsletter once information comes available.
Superintendent's Course Update
Dear Blackhawk Members –
The maintenance team has been hard at work getting the golf course into shape, and we appreciate both the patience and feedback. Here are some quick updates from our shop as we head into May.
We will be implementing a regular mowing & maintenance schedule.
We are utilizing signage and ropes to direct carts and some walking traffic. These are meant to help with wear patterns and to try and get back some of those bare “parking spots”. This will be especially helpful for outside events. Thank you in advance for following.
We will be continuing our work on the bunkers.
Tree work and brush clean-up will continue.
April was an interesting month, as we seemed to have gotten all four New England seasons in a matter of weeks, but we are through it and looking towards summer. It has been a blessing to be able to see and meet so many of you on the course. I look forward to meeting the rest of you throughout the year.

Custom Club Fitting Event
We are happy to announce that we will be holding a Club Fitting event on Friday, June 12th from 1pm-5pm. You must register for a fitting appointment in the Pro Shop you cannot just show up at the tent. So do not miss out on this great opportunity to get fitted with a Taylor Made Professional.
May Restaurant Updates
Starting this week the Restaurant & Grill Room will now have updated hours along with introducing Happy Hours and Dinner Service for the rest of the season. Please, see below for the newly updated hours for the Restaurant & Grill Room and our Happy Hour Menu.
Tuesday 11am-3pm Lunch, Bar closes at 5pm
Wednesday 11am-3pm Lunch, 3pm-5pm Happy Hour, 5pm-8pm Dinner, Bar closes at 9pm
Thursday 11am-3pm Lunch, 3pm-5pm Happy Hour, Bar closes at 6pm
Friday 11am-3pm Lunch, 3pm-5pm Happy Hour, 5pm-8pm Dinner, Bar closes at 9pm
Saturday & Sunday 11am-4pm Lunch, Bar closes at 6pm
