October Member Update

It finally feels like fall as we enter into the most beautiful season in New England. Our golf event season is coming to an end but there is still plenty of time to hit the links. Break out your sweater and enjoy the lovely weather!

We have some important updates below so please make sure to read each section. Our weekly "Tournament Tuesday" emails are also a great way to stay in the loop on all golf and restaurant events. If you missed out recent Mid-Season Member Update click the link to check it out, there are some great announcements about our new membership promotion, and member updates for the fall and next season.

Golf Cart Fleet Upgrade

Our new fleet of EZ-GO golf carts will be arriving in October! They will be a tremendous upgrade from the current fleet, and included upgraded premium seats for the membership to enjoy. Additionally, there will be no increase in cart fees until 2025.

Golf Course Hours

Starting October 1st weekend tee times will begin at 7:30AM. The pro shop and driving range open thirty minutes prior to the first tee time each day.

We will be OPEN on Columbus Day, Monday October 14th, with weekend/holiday fees and starting times applicable, and CLOSED Tuesday/Wednesday October 15th/16th for aeration.

Restaurant Update

We have an exciting fall menu, and some updated hours that will be in effect for October. Beverage cart hours will be Wednesday-Friday 10-5, and Saturday-Sunday 9-4, weather pending. The restaurant will be closed on October 15th and 16th during aeration.

Tuesday 11-4 -- Open until 8:00 on Trivia Night (10/8). Closed on Tuesdays starting 10/15.

Thursday 11-7

Friday 11-7

Saturday 9-4 -- Blackhawk Breakfast 9-12

Sunday 9-4 -- Blackhawk Breakfast 9-12, Football Specials 12-4

Practice Area Update

We are excited to announce that the new short game practice area is open! This will be a "soft opening" until October 20th, so we can close before temperatures get too cold for regrowth. We do have a few restrictions to keep in mind as to keep this facility in the best shape throughout the fall and into next season.

The golf staff will provide a basket of range balls for players to use, please do not retrieve range balls while others are hitting, and be mindful of those on the driving range when hitting longer shots. If taking a cart over please park on the path near the driving range and allow others room to get their carts past. The maintenance staff will also be taking care of replacing all divots, as the sand and seed mixture is different than the mix on golf carts. Always be mindful of any roped off areas, and (when the time comes) frost delays.

Agronomy Update

Members of Blackhawk Country Club,

Cooler temperatures are upon us now and leaves are starting to fall. Our staff will be diligently removing the leaves from the golf course daily. Frost delays are going be coming right around the corner.

Looking ahead this month we will be aerating greens on the 15th & 16th. Both days the golf course will be closed so cleanup will be quicker to allow everyone to get back out and play.

We look forward to some great fall golf days ahead!

Member Credit Book

As a reminder, all credit book expires at the end of the season (12/23). You may redeem your credit for pro shop merchandise, food, and non-alcoholic beverages. Please let the staff know that you would like to use credit when making your purchase.

Member Updates (newsletters) will be distributed monthly via email from membership@blackhawkct.com To view a feed of published Member Updates, please visit the Member Area. Our weekly "Tournament & Events Roundup" emails are sent every Tuesday, these include results, upcoming events, and sign-up information.
